Some pretty cool design in the customization of Epesi. It looks very powerful and not to criticize but I ran into a few problems:
1. Is it possible to have an added field appear next to an original field? It seems that added fields only appear at the bottom and are unable to move up. This is very inconvenient. I see that this problem was raised long ago (viewtopic.php?f=11&t=109). Can this be changed?
2. Added field names cannot be double-byte characters. When you try to enter a double-byte character (like Japanese) Epesi responds with the message: "Field Only letters and space are allowed." This is inconvenient.
3. Once you add a new field there is there a way to delete it? If you make a mistake when adding a new field are you stuck with a dead field in your database?
4. There is no way to deactivate an original field. For instance many people in the USA will not need / want country, but there is not way to get rid of it.
5. Epesi is not searching in an added field. Data entered into the added field is unable to be searched. Is there a way to require Epesi to search an added field?
6. Added fields for Companies do not appear for the Contacts. From a user perspective this is not good because Contacts should include all the information of the Companies. For instance, when I am looking at the documents attached to a contact I should also see the documents attached to the company, with perhaps some notation that one is a contact document as opposed to a company document. Is there a way to do this?
7. Is there a way to edit the length of an added field once it has been added? I realize that after you have allocated space in a database it may be difficult to decrease the size, but you shouldn't you be able to increase the size?
8. I cannot figure out a way to edit an original field. If I wanted to change "State" to "Province" how would I do that?
Is there a way to test the products software you describe? Will you be releasing that software to the public or did your contract prevent you from doing this? It sounds like a very good application which could make Epesi much stronger.
