Hey, I managed to break my password entry in the DB. I forgot my password, and do not have an email system running so couldn't change. I went directly to phpMyAdmin and changed the password there. Didn't work. So I emptied the password entry. Still no go.
How do I force a new password in epesi?
Hi, it's just md5 of password... For example password "test" is encoded into:
098f6bcd4621d373cade4e832627b4f6
Paul
Hello shacky,
What can I do with the md5? I think I cleared the password entirely. I think I need to reset it. Should I choose the md5 of another password and copy and paste into the mysql field?
-r
Hi, You can not have blank hash for the password. Copy and paste the hash for the password Pawel gave in the earlier post. Login with that password and then change it to something different.
Hi use this query to change password to "test":
UPDATE user_password SET password=md5('test') WHERE user_login_id=<your_user_id>;
If you would like to get your user id:
SELECT * FROM user_login;
TY! I'll give that a go as soon as I can.
I did get to try the commands. I enter into mysql via the command line using root and password. In order for it to take the command I had to modify "WHERE user_login_id=<your_user_id>;" to WHERE user_login_id=your_user_id;
But it reports zero rows affected. I am going to go ahead and nuke it, and reinstall with the latest.
Hi you probably provided invalid user id, so do "SELECT * FROM user_password" and check it...
