Spanish Translation

Hi all!

I'm from Argentina.
I would like to contribute with a spanish translation.

Olga just made a user for me at the epesi translation installation, so I'm already working on it.
You'll see an [color=#FF0000:spp9q14w]es[/color:spp9q14w] language into the combo box.

By the way... according to this post, the country extension isn't always the same language.
In example... Argentina has .com.ar; .org.ar; and so on.
But speaking of languages the ar code belongs to Arabian speakers.

The code set for languages are ISO 639.

Thanks for your contribution.

That is correct, the ISO 639 is more accurate to use here, since we're talking about languages and not countries here. I'll fix that post you pointed out.

Hi there.
I have done the spanish translation in about 95%.
I Still need to review some things.

I don't know if I should report here or inside the translation installation, because I detected some things that can't be translated, others I don't know what are and some "bugs".

1. CRM_Contacts ---> %s %s from %s
In spanish the "from" word can be translated in 3 different ways.
I can't find where is this (which module or app).
So I don't know what is and how translate it correctly.

2. CRM_Contacts ---> P
What is "P"? What this means?
I saw it when I try to made a new task. It appears before my name: [P] customer-name [company]

3. CRM_Contacts ---> "Your user doesn't have contact, please assign one"
I clicked but the edit dialog never shows up.

4. I see a green "Add New" button in every module (It has an "add new record" tooltip), but can't find where to translate it (also explored the translation module)

5. Into Calendar module, weekly view, I see my task with an information icon [i]. With mouse I can see the info dialog appear, fully translated except the last message: "Click to show/hide menu".
Can't find where to translate it.

6. Can't find where to translate the "loading..." and "processing..." progress boxes.

7. Some strange bug ocurred.
Some words I translated, now are already translated inside the "original" field losing the original english word

So in Base_Dashboard module I can find the Original string equal to my translation:
Compañías (should be Companies) ---> Compañías (translated to spanish)
Contactos (should be Contacts) ---> Contactos
Llamadas (should be Phone calls) ---> Llamadas
Tareas (should be Tasks) ---> Tareas
Reuniones (should be Meetings) ---> Reuniones
Oportunidad (should be Opportunity) ---> Oportunidad
Listados (should be Lists) ---> Listados
Activos (should be Assets) ---> Activos
Proyectos (should be Projects) ---> Proyectos

Well, that's all for now.
I though this should be better space to report.

Reporting it here is good. 🙂 Since you complied the list already, it's perfectly fine to report it here. Using the tool is only for convenience, not a necessity.

It's used as title display for notes under contacts. Example string is:

John Smith from ExampleCompany

[P] stands for Person, [C] stands for company. There's a special type of field that accepts both, contacts and/or companies. This tag is used to tell the user what record type it is.

If it's not listed in the translations tool (might take 3 seconds to update sometimes), then it means it's a bug and that given string was not pushed through the translation process. We'll get that fixed.

Some good news.

Everything I said we'll fix should be fixed already. It's live on translations tools, so if something's not working there, please post here.

It should be possible to translate "loading..." string now as well.

That error was fixed earlier, just had to update from svn.

Don't be shy to use bit longer string, theme should accommodate those and everything should be displayed properly regardless of exact length.
We will probably change few more things in that spot, we'll make sure it is displayed properly, don't worry about it.

5. Module Main Company. Using button Change Main Company, text "Contacts assigned to this company..." isn't available for translation.

6. Module Download Modules. Text for Title "Download Code", "Download" and "Download Now!" buttons aren't available for translation.

7. Module Language & Translation. Title "Languages Administration" isn't available for translation.

8. Module Record Set. Text "Show records", combobox with "All, active, deactive" and the "Show" button also aren't available for translation.

These are all valid reports and I fixed everything mentioned here.

Hi. Adding some more issues.

Under Bug Tracker->Tickets, when you try "Export" Button, it downloads a CSV file with this text instead data:

same in CRM->Assets, when you use the "Export" Button, the CSV contains:

In CRM->List Manager, when viewing a list (Test list) and click on Add button for new Lists; entering "advance search contact" (or "advance search company") I see three buttons: Select All, Deselect All, and a third button which is blank and has no function if I click it.

In Calendar, In Agenda Tab, I see an event list. The days aren't translated: Wed, 07/27/2011 00:00; Thu, 07/28/2011 00:00; Fri and Sat

The Google Search Applet doesn't work: it opens a new tab in browser but googles says:[quote:1q8tlrz8]We're sorry...

in My Settings-> Control Panel: Forms, Dialing and Note aggregate doesn't have icon.
My Settings-> Control Panel-> Assets: text is in two parts, first is already translated, second half has text "and set order of appearance(smaller number -> earlier showed)" and can't translate it (can't see where).

Well... I've tried to make several inputs (projects, tickets, notes, phonecalls, meetings...) and then edit them, to see if some more text shows up ready to be translated.

I'm sure there are much more "hidden" text.

My next task is to replicate a daily use: add, edit and delete using all functions in epesi.
That should be enough to obtain a pretty good "clean" spanish translation.

I'm using 1.1.7 version and I like it so much that I decided to collaborate with your project making available a spanish translation for all latinoamerican and spain users.
I'm anxiously looking forward to 1.1.8 version.

You're doing a remarkable job here. Your reports are very accurate and really helpful. Many thanks for all your work done.

I'm going to apply the fixes on translation tools site and after that pack all translations and upload them on sourceforge as updated language pack, so you can download and use it yourself as well.

Today I upgraded my epesi from 1.1.7 to 1.2.0 !!
Also I downloaded the language package with the spanish translation.
Excelent!

Just one issue. No big deal.
No spanish translation for modules and applets (I did that in the online translation tool)

Is the language package containing only Base_lang translation?

Why modules and applets have separated files, like
modules/Applets/Google/lang/pl.php
modules/Apps/ActivityReport/lang/pl.php
Shouldn't those files be part of langpack or they auto-generate?

Hello!

I just installed 1.2 locally and after switching to Spanish, I can see all the default applets, actionBar, menu in Spanish. Few other screens I switched to also seem to be fully translated.

There are few translations you did that didn't make it to this release, we used a snapshot of language files created earlier, Google applet is among them. For the next release we'll be using fresh snapshot and those translations will also be included.

As for the files you asked - every module has an option to provide its own translations. The files you see there are files that are used to build /data/Base_Lang/base/XX.php.
On translation tools, we're splitting files from /data/Base_Lang/base/ and save them in /lang/ folder for every module. That way translations are part of epesi package (since we provide empty /data/ folder with the package, for epesi to populate it).
It's not the best solution, but we have a better one in the making. 🙂

We'll update language pack soon as well.

I see. I didn't know how Epesi framework worked, but I guessed that.
Lets say that langpack is a "compilation" of those files generated by translation tool, rigth?
