One more thing. We already have developed a very sophisticated warehouse management system that handles items - they could be anything: service item, inventory items, non-inventory (qty on hand not counted), serialized items (like digital cameras with unique serial number for tracking warranty service for example). Items can have different currencies and language descriptions. Items can be used in transactions: purchase, sell, move between warehouses (transfers), rent - check-in, check-out. It can be used for logistics in companies like moving and storage industry. Transactions have complete order fullfilment process including payment processing (integrated so far with Authorize.net). The Warehouse module is a Premium module and will be available soon in Applications Store (upcoming within weeks as we are testing it). On the warehouse is based e-commerce module. You can see how sophisticated the e-commerce is when you switch langauges and try to read description of items. All pictures and descriptions plus hundreds of parameters in several languages are automatically populated from http://icecat.biz/ open catalog and other product databases (via plugins). As for reminders you could use Checklist module (Premium as well) and you can setup there who and how othen is responsible for certain activities, for example check tire pressure every month, fluid levels - and collect responses like: air pressure (Normal, Low, High, N/A) and put comments. Items on the list and Checklists are defined in Admin module. Completely definable.
