1 - We no longer maintain this module (Freeconnect) but it should still work fine. Just try to install the module and see if it works. You will need an account at Freeconnect for this to work:

2 - Yes - it should work fine under 1.3
3 - No - the services are offered by a third party vendor and are not free - please see Freeconnect web site for details.
4 - Module Freeconnect is a plugin for "click-to-call" module. By default - when not installed - your phone numbers in Companies or Contacts will be just a text. Once installed phone numbers become links and when clicking on them it will launch "click-to-call" application. Currently we have only 2 plugins/providers:
- Skype
- Freeconnect (Polish VoIP provider)
It is possible to create other plugins to work with other VoIP providers. You can use these 2 plugins (Skype and Freeconnect) as a guide and proof of concept.
At this moment the development of VoIP integration with EPESI was put on hold due to lack of time and our limited resources. It is our goal to provide an enhanced functionality some time in the future, especially EPESI and Asterisk (http://www.asterisk.org/) integration as they are both open source and we had several requests regarding this issue in the past. The module that handles click-to-call functionality has been designed to support many VoIP providers via plugins.
