French pack bugs

Hello,
I installed 3 times :

1. With french : some strange menus, no way to get the import function, calendar records going to 1970.
2. With french and tried to correct it (some items were in german, lots incorrectly translated, others etc ..., epesi ceased to open.
3. With only english : import function back, calendar perfect, etc. All seems ok.

So, problem with french pack.

I saw you already inquired on point no. 2 in another thread, going to leave that there. I should only add that there was no attachment in your first post, in that thread, when I first checked.

As for point no. 1 - that's something that definitely should be fixed, thanks for reporting it. I'll look into it and post back here.

If epesi is not starting, it usually means parsing error in language file. You can check for errors simply going to
http://<epesi>/data/Base_Lang/base/fr.php

In this case, you're missing two semicolons at the end of the lines, in lines 1734 and 2014.

If yes, may be you can use it for epesi french users.

I think it needs to be improved anyway because some items have been translated "out of context" and I'm not sure these are judicious. But I think it's quite better than the one I found with epesi.

Thanks for offering support, we really appreciate it.

I would gladly update French translation with the strings you supplied, there is one issue however. In the file you attached, there's invalid encoding used. The file itself is marked for utf8, but in my editor characters are scrambled and it's the same in epesi.
Could you please check your encoding and re-submit the file?

Well, I use notepad++ and it offers to convert and encode in different format. That's all I know about encoding. The file I uploaded appers to be utf8 in notepad++. Here is another one (remove ".ansi") supposed to be ansi encoded.
If you know a better way to check.change this encoding, I swould be glad to know about it.

This is excellent! It's working great, I can see all characters properly and it does indeed look like much improved translation - I was looking through some string translated differently than what we had so far and with the little I can understand from reading French, I can safely say the ones you supplied are indeed better.

Many thanks for providing us with this file. I attached to this post version with fixed ";" that were missing. Using this file should get your epesi started and working in French.

We will update the language pack soon to include your translation, with credits where they are due. 🙂

Now, as for the issues regarding Import and dates, reported in your first post.
I tried to recreate the issue on both the original and your translation - on both I had negative result. Everything seems to be working properly, dates are displayed properly.
For the Import problem - can you please double-check if Premium/Import module is installed?
As for the dates - it'd be great if you could provide screenshot of where the date is invalid. And if possible, tell us what steps you're taking to get this date to be displayed.

I need to reinstall as I tried to upgrade from version 1.2.0 to 1.2.2 and the thing does not start no more. But as soon as it is done, I'll install this langpack and see what can be improved to have it perfect.

Can you tell us what error message you were getting after the update? Anything in the error log?

In fact, I reinstall completely the crm without french at all and import fonction then appeared as well as some menu items.
The calendar worked properly too.
Apparently it is a matter of french lang pack ...
I'm gonna try it again as soon as possible and let you know.

sorry, I just erase the whole and install next version. The first line was about permissions. You need to know that suphp is not available on this server and I have lots of permissions troubles with whatever CRM. Any file modified or created by a script on the server become the server's property.

I just translated 1100 items. I'll try to finish this night. I didn't translated countries (less important) and some clock skins that doesn't look like common nouns.

I need some explanations on these :

Advanced order history : history of the advanced order, order history in an advanced way ?
array : board, panel, php code ?
search keyword... : search for keyword, search by keyword ?
View edit history : history of view/edit, so as to view or to edit history ?

It's Advanced "order history". When you change order (say, sort by first name) and then change the order again (say, last name), your first choice is still of some importance. If two people have the same Last Name, then they are ordered by First Name in this example.
Advanced Order History is a label that is attached to string describing what ordering you applied consecutively.

Array as in set of elements. In some languages it's substitute for table.

The word that is used for searching. As in Search by keyword, but more specifically, it's placed in the exact spot that Search Keyword should be typed in.
