Cannot edit Email address in Roundcube Identity

Hello,

The new version of epesi (1.3) seems to be preventing me from changing the user's email address in the roundcube identities.

This is an issue because as soon as you make a change to the user's email settings in epesi or you add a new user, the email address is re-constructed as user@serveraddress which then will not send.

I went to Roundcube Mail accounts (Menu->My Settings->Control Panel->E-mail accounts) and created a new entry there. Then I enter e-mail address and it auto-fill to 3 more fields. After that, I can edit these fields without any issue. Can you please describe the problem step by step? We're unable to reproduce it by this description.

Hello,

Once you have created the user account in (Menu->My Settings->Control Panel->E-mail accounts) and the email server is set to an IP address (e.g. 172.16.16.1).

Then go to Menu > Email > Personal Settings > Identities
There will then be an identity for the account created. that account will be username@serveraddress

Also, if you update the enail address in Menu->My Settings->Control Panel->E-mail accounts it doesnt update the identity

Hello,

We've checked the report and the application works as expected. Changing the Login field in Roundcube accounts does change Identities entry in the Roundcube itself. Please note that a full refresh of Roundcube may be needed to see the changes.

I have just created a new user and a new email account.

email address:
nick@ouremail.co.uk

Account Name:
OurEmail

Server:
172.16.16.10

Security

SMTP Server:
172.16.16.10

Archive on Sending:
Yes

I then go and open roundcube and the mailbox opens. Clicking Personal Settings > Identies I see

Identity:
Ian <nick@172.16.16.10>

I can change my name so it reflects Nicks name and his account, but the email is still the loginname@servername rather than the email address defined when creating the account.

The only way I can change that email address in the identiy is to edit the mysql entry directly.

EDIT: I have just tried to save the changes to the Name and an error box occurs saying "Please enter a valid email address"

Hello,

I wasn't directly involved in Roundcube integration in EPESI, but from my testing it appears that the behavior you described is the internal working of Roundcube. EPESI simply sends the login & server information and Roundcube takes it from here, creating the identities.

Still, there are two possible solutions to the problem.
First - if you can provide the ouremail.co.uk as the server (instead of IP), the identity will be displayed properly. I know many servers actually operate on subdomain like imap.ouremail.co.uk, so if that's the case you can try the other solution:
Change the "Login" field to full e-mail address - nick@ouremail.co.uk instead of nick. When full e-mail address is used as login, then this is the piece used in Identities. Again, I know that mail server configuration can prevent from logging in with full e-mail address, but most servers don't do that.

Hello Arek,

I do not think any of those solutions will work as the domain does not point to the mailserver and previous eperience has shown exchange rejects email addresses for login.

I am on a newer version of exchange so I will try that again.

If that doesnt work, I will continue editing identies in phpmyadmin, however it is not really ideal!
