assigned specific group to users

Hello I've Created a users and assigned to specific Group

1. Managers
2, Supervisors Area 1 | Supervisor Area 2
3. Sales Reps Area 1 | Sales Rep Area 2

I set up a permission that Supervisors for Area 1 will only be able to see contacts and company created by Sales Reps belongs to Area 1 Group.

Currently When the Sales Rep login and creates Company or Contacts they (can change the group by default) shouldn't be able to change the group assigned to them.

any Help will Please.

You need to edit Common Data and edit Company and Contact groups. Create Group Area 1 and Area 2.
I assume you already done this as well and created in Common Data 4 new groups:
- Supervisors Area 1
- Supervisors Area 2
- Sales Rep Area 1
- Sales Rep Area 2

You will go to Contacts and Companies and assign a rule, that for example:
Sales Rep Area 1 can see only Customers assigned to a group of Area 1. This is a required field. And you can make it disabled for editing for this access level. This way Record Browser engine, and to be more exact permission system will force this group when creating a record. This way all records created by users from Sales Rep Area 1 will be automatically assigned to this group.

For access level Supervisor Area 1 you setup basically the same filter - Customers and Contacts must be in Area 1.

If you want to restrict access of Sales Reps to see just their own contacts then setup another filter in Access Permissions - to see just contacts (and companies) created by them.

Is there any other way to force the Record Browser engine to automatically assinged (contacts created) to default group of Account Owner aside from disabling the editing access level? I just realized that the Sales Rep need to be able to add/edit/delete (contacts and companies) they created.

Before posting this topic I had set-up this way.
Common Data > Contacts > Access > Sales Rep Area 1

Record Browser > Recordset (company) > Permission > Access Type (View) > Created by is equal to User Login or Account Manager is set to record with Access equal to Sales Rep Area 1

Result: Supervisor Area 1 can add company + can view company created by Sales Rep Area 1

CONTACTS
for Sales Rep Area 1
Record Browser > Recordset (contacts) > Permission > Access Type (View) > Company Name equal records with Account Manager set to User Contact or Company Name equal User Company

Result: Sales Rep Area 1 can view/add/edit/delete contacts Created by them only

for Supervisor Area 1
Record Browser > Recordset (contacts) > Permission > Access Type (View) > Company Name equal records with Account Manager set to User Contact or Company Name equal User Company or Access equal to Sales Rep Area 1

How about creating a new Common Data values:
Area 1
Area 2

Then create new select field - this post will help you: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1312&hilit=+select#p4469
Don't make it required, but visible in the table view will be helpful.

Add this new field to both Contacts and Companies. This way you will be able to separate your Companies and Contacts into 3 categories:
- Area 1 (Companies and Contacts)
- Area 2 (Companies and Contacts)
- No area when this field is empty (meaning that they were created by someone else than Area 1 or Area 2 Salesman or Supervisor)

Adjust your permissions so that for example Salesman from Area 1 can add/edit etc. contacts and companies from Area 1 only. Do the same for supervisors.
This should work.

To automate the process you'll have to edit modules/Premium/Import_0.php, in line 415 add the following code:

         if ($row['x_area']) Utils_CommonDataCommon::extend_array('x_area',array($row['x_area']=>$row['x_area']));

         if ($row['x_location']) Utils_CommonDataCommon::extend_array('x_location',array($row['x_location']=>$row['x_location']));

         if ($row['x_city']) Utils_CommonDataCommon::extend_array('x_city',array($row['x_city']=>$row['x_city']));

So whenever the Sales Rep of Area 1 creates Contact, the Group Field is automatically set to his Assigned Area Group (e.g Area 1)
