% sign in field name

Hi everyone,

We created a field called "discount %"

it accepted the field name but I found 2 odd things

1st. I noticed in the SQL table, it is f_discount__ if this is on purpose, no need for action

2nd one I found which is the bug is if I modified the field, if I go to user activity report, and look at the history, you will see a message "Invalid translation, misused char % (use double %%)"

for the field names, sometimes a symbol (%, #) is more appealing than spelling the whole word out.

You should never use characters like % or # in the field name. It may cause unpredictable consequences like broken queries.
Try to rename the field to discount and then use translation mechanism to translate "discount" to "discount %". The field name is used in queries but field label not.

1st is ok. Every non alphanumeric character is changed to underscore.

2nd
In fact percent sign may mess up something. Percent is used in SQL language as reserved char, but I think it shouldn't be a problem. Main issue here is our translation system which uses printf format to create translated strings and when you want to write percent in translation you should write double percent sign. I'll try to do something with this, but it has rather low priority.

Now just please don't use percent sign in field name.
