Company / Customer Module stopped working

Hi Everyone,

we just ran into a new issue. I don't really know what happened but my fellow Admin likes to put in lots of new fields in the CRM and that is what he did.

When you go to a Customer or a Company, you click on view, then modify, it will not let you save or cancel.
if you click Edit record, same thing, you can't save or modify.

It works in the Admin->record browser though.

please check out the error log in ~~[url=http://samco.com/error.txt]~~http://samco.com/error.txt[/url] that was generated by the DEBUG flag in the config.

I didn't get any emails from the CRM module when this happened.

I hope you can spot something wrong...

Hi,

I'm unable to say anything about your issue. DEBUG flag just enables debug output. Content of modules, etc. It's not error log.

At first you should tell us does EPESI raise any error (when error reporting and display errors are enabled), or not. Error, warning, notice, not debug output.
If not then you should debug what exactly happens to get info why. It may be hard if you don't know EPESI well.

Hi Adam,

I know when you create a new company and try to save it, sometimes the error message is:

TypeError: $(...) is null

Other times nothing happens, its random.

If you can not save the record you probably have a problem with memory limits.

First - make sure that you don't use 50 or 100 records per page. Reset it to 20, refresh EPESI (full page reload) and see what happens.
In Chrome use the console to check for any javascript errors.
Try to increase memory limits in your database configuration.

Thank you so much, I lowered it to 20 and now its fixed as you predicted.

I increased the MAX packet size and the problem is fixed.
