The global search is located in the top right corner of the screen:

To search within a particular recordset/module use the local search: http://epesi.org/index.php?title=Record_Browser#Search
This search is limited to a single recordset and only to fields/columns visible in the browse mode.
We are preparing an App called Quick Search which allows the admin to construct a predefined applet to search within multiple recordsets based on certain criteria. For example you can define to search within Last Name in Contacts or Company Name and Short Company Name in Companies. This App will be avaiable in EPESI store as soon as we finish testing it.
