After setup the display is white

I can understand.
I install it - no errors, all was good.

After the first page is open and I see this:

I install 3times and each time was the same.

How to fix it?

There is a problem with template files. Please check permissions on /data directory.

Yes - permissions must be read/write, try 777.

You should check your browser's error console. It's probably some css/images issue.

Then check http server logs.

I am having this exact same problem installing on a shared host (A2 Hosting)

I have checked the directory permissions and everything seems to be ok. When I go to ADMIN and refresh the themes, nothing seems to work.

Have you solved this issue on your end?

Has anyone solved this problem yet?

I've experienced exactly the same thing. All the folders had the appropriate read/write privs, yet the base theme was inaccessible.

I can't seem to get this working. Is there a way to manually install and configure the base theme?

Sorry that we've missed your post to approve. No they don't have to be 777. Sometimes they can't be 777 - it depends on server configuration - some http seerver extensions block files with 777 for security reasons. Http Server user must be able to read and write those files.
