IE10 Menu doesn't appear

When using IE10 the menu never shows up in either compatibility mode or not.

I have the same problem with version 1.5.2 and IE 10

however version 1.4.0 works on IE10 .....

I am having to advise clients to use Firefox for out 1.5 clients, but its not going down well so
would also like to see a fix for this and IE 10
, I can also confirm it does not work for IE 11 on a test machine I have , but as that is not general release, i expect a few issues

The solution appears to be quite simple. In the main index.php file an IE=8 emulation header was placed in the file for some reason. Simply replace the code with this:
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge" />

This line will instruct IE to use the latest rendering. I've tested in IE10 and IE11. Both appear to work much better with this modification.

Perhaps the modification can be included in the next build.

We mostly use Firefox and Chrome, but we have a laptop that had IE10 installed when it was purchased. I edited the code as you described, and accessed our site with IE10. All is well!
