Calendar and Sales Opportunity

I have searched the forum and read the manual but I still have a few questions.

When setting up an event in the calendar there is a place called "opportunity" is this related to the Sales Opportunity extension? How do you use opportunity

Yes it is. This allows you to associate events with Sales Opportunities. All of the activities/events associated with a specific Opportunity are listed under the "events" tab in the Opportunities screen (the single opportunity screen, not the list of opportunities).
