Saving settings

Hi i have just installed for first time, i can save users etc but when i make changes eg. swap or remove modules on dashboard, the changes are not saved. same result if i create a new tab and drag modules to it... non saved. i have checked the data folder permissions are set to 777, any ideas please

Dashboard settings are stored in user's settings table in the database. Therefore permissions to the file system have nothing to do with it.
Check if you have necessary permissions to the database and inspect your database error log.

thanks for that... i ended up re-installing and everything is working well now except the email. im not sure if that is the crm or connection to roundcube.
