[EPESI 1.5.3] SMTP Error

Dear all,
I have a problem with smtp configuration.
I tried to configure an imap gmail account and it works, but I cannot send emails.
In particular the system tells me connection refused.

I've tried both from RC and from general mail settings (the one used to send errors and so on) but same result.

Gmail settings for EPESI outgoing server, that work for me:
SMTP host address: smtp.gmail.com:465
Security: SSL
SMTP Auth: Yes
Login: user@gmail.com
Pass: ***

For Roundcube (in user settings panel - account settings):
smtp serv: smtp.gmail.com
auth: yes
login: user@gmail.com
pass: ***
smtp security: ssl

Dear ajb,
I used the same settings as you but it return me the error "Cannot connect to server (-1)"
See attached screenshots.
Using imap to connect to my gmail account, I can read my emails without problems.
The problem is to send emails.

Ok. I've got an idea. Check if your server can reach smtp.gmail.com. Shell ping is not enough. Use telnet or something.

Check if your http server has been run after network connection (otherwise dns lookup may not work).

check your firewall.

Dear ajb, sorry to bother you.
The problem is due of GoDaddy servers that don't let Epesi to connect to external SMTP servers.

I've solved using their server to send email.
