How to have the date auto post upon saving of record

Does a way exist where when you save the record or modify it, it auto updates the record date? Right now you can click in the date field and add the date that way, but is epesi capable of auto update on date?

Every record in EPESI stores the following info:
- who created a record and when
- who modified the record and when
- a history of every change on a field level

"i" icon shows creation and modification date
A clock icon shows record history

Thanks for the reply.

I guess what I'm trying to figure out if possible is can you filter records by the "date modified" without having to add an additional date field to the layout?

So lets assume I want to pull all records modified on 12/12/2013 can that be done or do I need to have the date field option added into the records to do this?
