SMTP Problem

I have a problem with the smtp, i am working with mailjet and i put in the smtp settings (tested it in outook and they work).
Now when i click on test i get the message "E-mail was sent successfully", but i don't get the mail in mailbow (or spammail). Also i tested it with the "Recover password" mail, also don't get it in my mailbox.
What can be the problem here?

Well,

it's hard to say what can be the problem...

Can you test the other server? For instance gmail, or something? It may be some issue related to the PHP code and then probably it shouldn't work for any server.
If it'll work for the other server, then maybe you should try some other configuration for your server.

In fact the best way to solve this issue is the hardest - debug connection errors.

Hi Adam,

I tested it with another server and then it works (i get the email). I tried some other ports (and ssl-> on/off) and on sometimes i get the error and sometimes again that the email has been send but no email in mailbox.

So definitely there is some issue with smtp server <-> Epesi configuration.
You should debug your smtp connection. There is no simple "checkbox" to debug... so
add such line



        $mailer->SMTPDebug = true;

in modules/Base/Mail/MailCommon_0.php on line 64.

Then go to Menu -> Admin -> Mail Server settings
Set proper settings, click Save, then click Test. Now you should see some debug information in the gray frame above the form.

Well, so it seems that your smtp server queues messages properly, but it's not sent. It's strange. I think that you should find some logs or contact mailjet's support.

One thing - if you can use IMAP then set up account for a user in User settings - it uses roundcube to send & receive (it's different sending library from EPESI mail settings).

When i use it in the roundcube with an imap account i don't have problems, what i seen now with testing it other smtp, that the sender of the test mail is "Root User <root@localhost>" , i know with mailjet i have to add the emailadresses where i send from into the program. Is it not sending from the "Administrator e-mail address"? Maybe this is the problem?

There is a text input in the "Mail server settings" to set "Administrator e-mail address". Maybe it's not obvious but you have to click "Save" before "Test".
