New module for RMA management

Dear all,
I'm going to start developing a module to manage RMA of products.
I started looking at the tutorial and the "HelloWorld" example works :mrgreen:
However I would like to start not from a "base" module but introduce from the start some feature I'll use in the future. The main feature is to insert a field to choose the customer, like the one used in all CRM modules: a text box to search and chooose customer.

I think there isn't an example in the tutorial, or do I have missed it?

You mean the field type "crm_company_contact" or CRM_Contacts_RBO_CompanyOrContact field object?

Exactly!
I see from source code of PhoneCallInstall.php how you declare it but, if I copy the code in my php file it doesn't work..

I think I'm wrong somewhere because even attached files doesn't work..
I put them in modules/Premium/ManageRMA

Your Recordset class doesn't match filename.
Forget about module files and their naming (Xxx_0, XxxCommon_0, XxxInstall). Every autoloaded class have simple loading procedure. Replace every underscore _ to slash / and prepend "modules/".
modules/Premium/ManageRMA/Recordset.php --> Premium_ManageRMA_Recordset

I don't see there any Company or Contact field 😉

I've also renamed your recordset class usages, because you've left Premium_RMA_Recordset.

I haven't tested installation.

Hello abj,
when I do a database module reconstruction, it gives me Server Error 500..
How can I diagnose the issue?

I didn't get what you're doing ("database module reconstruction"?). 500 - find a server logs. Memory usage, too long execution time?

I'm using it in Italian and so I have difficulty to translate back to english exactly..
I mean

Do you use English or Italian as your language in EPESI?
I just had a case when a corrupted or incorrect languague file was giving error 500.
Switch your EPESI to English and see if that fixes the problem.

If this is not the language problem then the only way to figure it out is to check your logs.

I assume you are developing your new module on a local PC, correct?

Unfortunately no log on my server log directory..
I'm using a copy of my production epesi on GoDaddy hosting.
When I Rebuild Modules Database a popup tells me "Failure Error 500"..

You already said and we know that you get error 500.
You need to get access to logs. If you can not nothing can be done.
This is why you should not develop new modules and test it on the server without access to logs. Do it on your computer locally.

Download entire EPESI and database to your local computer and debug it there. Once you fix the problem upload to the server and this is the only way to solve it I guess.

Thanks to jjjj12212 (aka Mike), we managed to develop a module for RMA.

Basic functionalities works.
Now we will try to add Notes under it.
Any suggestion about how to do that? :mrgreen:
