Phone number truncated on custom field

Not sure if this is a bug or not but having trouble adding extra phone fields with RecordBrowser.
I added a mobile field to "companies" based on the existing phone field but when using it to enter
the phone number (or mobile number in this case) the last couple of digits are truncated from the field when we save the record. Not sure
if this is because of the way that we configured the phone field or not. Any help on this appreciated.

- try the minimum setup - CRM - you can always add other modules later.
- try to use epesi without any modifications, especially renaming fields, adding custom ones, etc.
problem is with custom fields only
- turn on PHP logging and inspect it for any errors. - especially when you don't see any errors on the screen this is where you will find why the application crashes.

- inspect HTTP log as well.

That's only error.

- permissions for data directory must be read/write! yes
- do you use any PHP accelerator? Disable it and test again. No accelerator to my knowledge
- are all needed php extensions enabled? unsure
- make sure that you have the latest version of epesiBIM from Sourceforge epesi-1.5.5-20140113

Hi,

what is the length of your field set in the RB settings? Menu -> Administrator -> RecordBrowser -> [select recordset] -> Tab: Manage fields -> edit your field

Yes, I checked that and the field window is precisely what you have shown.

I have also included some screenshots showing what happens with mobile field.

In record browser, some records have strange mobile numbers

Strangely enough it worked fine on the test installation of Epesi on a different machine. The test machine was running Apache on windows while the production server is running Linux Centos 6.4

Open phpmyadmin or any other mysql admin tool and check the length of the "f_mobile" field in table "company_data_1".

The junk is our first attempt at adding the field but we renamed that field and deactivated it. The Mobile field (near the bottom) is the second attempt.

Yeah, it does look like that those field values are wrong. Is it advisable if we fix it up from with MySql or does that mess with data integrity?

You have to check company_field for your mobile field. Type should be Text and Param field should match the field size in company_data_1 table.
Here is mine field, that I've added to test your case:

You have to change both values. Varchar length in company_data_1 and param value in company_field.
