My goal is to import a list of about two thousand contacts. This is actually a list of patients. They are not associated with companies.
I purchased and installed the "Data Import" module.
I exported my data in csv form from my existing database. This does not automatically put the field content in quotes but I can add this if need be. I wasn't sure if I need all field data to be in quotes or only in the case of special characters like # or % appear in the field data.
What to do next?
I went to: Menu > Administrator > Data > Data Import
I was able to upload my file. But I don't see how to map the fields. There are buttons for "Process Queue" and "Import" but neither takes me to field mapping.
Am I even using the purchased module?
A related item: I have considered creating "companies" for this list of patients which would actually be "households" or "family". That way if more than one household member is a patient I would be able to see that they are related to the same family/household. Is this advisable? necessary? Is it possible to import contacts only without corresponding companies?
