Multiple recordsets in one record browser

Hello,

I need to create new module, where is necessary to show few details from company recordset.

I don't want to duplicate this fields, just store company id in my module. Could you advice me, if is it possible, how to connect this fields do record borwser view of my module? I just need to show this company fields read only.

You should define select field for company, and as many calculated fields as you want to show details from selected company.
Then you have to define display callbacks for those fields and get value according to the selected company id.

example display callback

  $company_record = Utils_RecordBrowserCommon::get_record('company', $record['company_id']);

  return Utils_RecordBrowserCommon::get_val('company', 'field_x', $company_record);

}

Now just for perfection, is there in EPESI some mechanism for refresh calculated fields during creation / editing record? I thing, i saw some thread on similar theme earlier, but I can't remember where.

This is not necessary for me, I just wonder, if EPESI is able to do it.

You can
1. use so called soft submit - it will submit form - RB will not save the record, but you all values will be generated again.
It requires you to override QFfield callback for the calculated field and generate value for the edit and add modes. You have to get current values from the RB object ( Utils_RecordBrowser::$rb_obj->record ) in the QFfield callback. Also you need to Implement custom Qffield callback for the field that should be watched for change to add onchange event with $form->get_submit_form_js(false) as a JS code.

2. You could use AJAX but it's even harder than the first option.

Both options requires a lot of work. It depends on your requirements - sometimes it's worth to do this.
