Seller'Warehouse permission

Hi,

I need to set up permission for users (account mgr) to a specific warehouse they can use during sales quote and sales creation.
Simple example:
Seller A can make transactions with Warehouse X for Product S (there's certain quantity on hand in WH X)
Seller B can make transactions with Warehouse Y for Product S (different on quantity on hand)
They can not use each other warehouses to create transactions.

I tried finding a field that could be used in permission setup for recordsets but could not find any.

Is this option envisioned in the standard Inventory mgt module or I need to create new fields into recordsets? If the later case would you recommend I set that new field against "items_location'' recordset?

If you'll restrict view to the warehouse records, then user won't be able to select this warehouse in the transaction.
Is this a reasonable solution or user has to be able to peek into other warehouse?

With the new version of EPESI there will be another access level: "Selection" which will control which records could be selected. It's been introduced to get rid of closed tickets/tasks/etc from the select values, but it'll be ideal solution for you to restrict some users to certain warehouses.

Thx Adam, I'M ok to resrict them to one warehouse even for viewing it. But i am unable to find a right permission rule. Does it mean i need to create another employee type for each of them and then add it to permission for the record set? I would appreciate short example. Thx

Also when would a new version come? I like concept of 'selection' a lot.

I'm working on the release right now.

Yes - you have to define new access level (like Employee), then add commondata field to Warehouse recordset, assign warehouses to several groups, then create View rules for each user access level (clearance) respecting each warehouse group.
It'll require some time, but you can do this 🙂

Ok, then I will decide based on when you expect a new version to be live. Do you have a target date locked?

Not really, but I'd like to push it during this week. However this selection solution will require the same structure for user access levels and warehouse groups. So you can implement it now basing on a view, then just change to selection.
