How to integrate SMS - Service into EPESI

Hi Folks,

I've got an important question.

I'm using EPESI quite or a while now and am very satisfied with it. :)

But now, I need a new feature for doing my work with the system: A SMS-Service, speaking, I want to send my customers/contacts SMS-Messages to their registered mobile-numbers.

I've seen, there is a "Freeconet dialer" - Plugin and I've already found out that this is a Polish VoIP-Provider but he's got no English/German Site, so I cannot quite understand, if he's offering a SMS-Service (Ja nie dobre umiem mówić Popolsku, ya know. :wink: )

How is the best way to integrate an SMS-Service into EPESI for an Austrian business?

Hi Hannes,

freeconet integration is only for dialing, not texting.
We've got some sms integration written for our customer, however I've no idea how it works. I suppose it's been designed for some reminders about appointments.

All depends on your needs. Please describe what would you like to have - in sense of user experience.

thanks for your fast reply.

The main need is to be able to send SMSes to mobile-numbers of companies/contacts.

The best way would be to have the mobile number a clickable link, which opens a message window, where you can put the SMS-Message and have a "Send"-Button. Just that simple. (if it is).

I think that it would be easier to have an additional tab (addon) under a company, as it wouldn't conflict with dialer.
It would be great if you could find some local operator with API and make some simple PHP code that will send messages. I could help you with the integration.

What do you think about that?

I agree, an additional Tab would be smarter and won't interfere with the dialer.

I will search for an SMS-Operator, who provides an API and will get back to you within this week.

sorry, that it takes some time but the search for a usable SMS-ServiceProvider is taking some time, as I need to set up a view offers and compare them and let the customer choose a final SP, who we gonna use.

I think I will have the info by end of next week, then I will turn back to you.
