Setup Exchange-Emails within EPESI

Hi Adam,

SMS-Stuff is kinda painstaking, cause the customer can't decide which sms-provider to choose. I'll be with him tomorrow and hopefully we get a decision. :roll:

In the meantime another task has arised. In order to attach written emails to a company as an activity, the email-account of the sales-person needs to be setup in EPESI and he/she needs to write this email from within EPESI, right?

I now have the situation, that the customer uses a MS Exchange Server for managing his mails and appointments.

How do I set up an exchange mailbox in EPESI? Is it the same procedure like I setup an simple POP3-Account?

Please give me a hint.

EPESI uses Roundcube so you can use what Roundcube supports. As I know it's just IMAP. Pop3 is not supported by roundcube.
If you could set exchange to serve IMAP to access emails, then you can use Outlook to receive/send emails, then open EPESI and archive received/sent emails.
You don't have to use Roundcube to send emails - you can just access and archive.

I know that some 3rd party company has been writing outlook plugin to archive emails in EPESI, but I can't find it right now.

I think the plugin-solution will be the easiest way for us.

Can you remember the name of the company, which created it?

Hi Adam,

finally we managed to configure the system to the needs of the customer (Had to do a complete company process-planning, because there was no process in the company, pfeewww :wink:).

We're installing the system to a virtual machine on their MS-Serversystem at the moment.

And the Exchange-Issue still needs to be solved.

Has there been any solution in the meantime? Or did you remember the Exchange plugin-name and the name of its creators.

It would be urgent, because I need to do a training on the system on Thursday.

Pls. help.

Just configure Exchange server to support IMAP also:

Hi Janusz,

thanks for the info.

There's just a litte issue: People are working with Outlook and a mixed usage for one Exchange-Account (Outlook + IMAP) is not recommended by some of the tutorials I've found in the web.

Have you had experience with this setup so far?

How is it been done? Setting up Roundcube and connecting it via IMAP to the respective Exchange-Account?

Pls. let me have your experience.

It depends how you setup your Outlook, but in general there should be no issue.
Roundcube will use IMAP, Outlook will connect via a proprietary connector, but the end result will be the same.
