error upgrading from 1.5.6 to 1.7.2

We're trying to upgrade to 1.7.2. We have PHP 5.4. The following is the error:
Patch output buffering interrupted. Maybe die or exit function was used. File: modules/Base/patches/20140827_install_print_module.php Output buffer:

The php error in the log:
PHP Fatal error: Class 'Base_Print' not found in /var/www/html/modules/Base/patches/20140827_install_print_module.php on line 5

Any ideas?

Hi,

I recommend to first update EPESI to 1.6.5 version, then to 1.7.2.

But if you wish to try you can replace the content of this file with

defined("_VALID_ACCESS") || die('Direct access forbidden');

$mod = 'Base_Print';
if (ModuleManager::is_installed($mod) < 0) { // not installed
    ModuleManager::install($mod, 0);
}

And finish the update procedure.

ok, I'm really struggling here. After resolving several issues, I finally have the system up to 1.6.5. Now I can't get to 1.7.2 due to this error which makes little sense to me:

ok, here's a little more info, if helpful. I was able to upgrade to 1.7.0. It's the jump to 1.7.1 that causes the error above.

Not sure what actually breaks from 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 but it wasn't actually stock Epesi that had the problem. We had added a customization that needed to be modified for 1.7.1. Now we are on 1.7.2 and all appears good.

This error report means that your code doesn't have function, but it's set as display callback. CRM_ContactsCommon::display_cname. It's been removed, but in database some field had it set as the display callback.
